Genlis Metal collects scraps and defective castings from zinc die casters, melts them down, refines and adjusts them to the required specification. The resulting standardised zinc alloys are then sent back to die casters to be used in their original applications.
These recovered products are Zamak alloys that meet the current European standards.
Production of primary alloy bases (zinc material and Z1 SHG 99.995% zinc base)
Genlis Metal also produces Zamak and galvanising alloys from various zinc-containing materials and/or Z1 (SHG 99.995%) zinc, with less than 50 g of impurities per tonne. Zamak 2, 3 & 5 standardised alloys based on zinc, aluminium, copper and magnesium are the most commonly produced.
