Genlis Metal was created in 2007 by managers from the steel and zinc industries. The company is fully independent and specialises in developing zinc alloys for pressure die casting foundries and steel galvanisers, with two main service lines:
Recovery and re-use of zinc pressure die-casting scraps and by-products
This consists of melting down the by-products of die casting (sprues, dross, turnings, etc.), refining and adjusting them to the required specification and producing standardised zinc alloys (according to European standards EN 1774 and EN 12844), which are then re-used in die casting operations. The carbon footprint of the resulting alloy is more than 95% lower than that of Z1 alloys (SHG zinc).
Production of zinc alloys (zinc base and Z1 SHG zinc)
Genlis Metal produces zinc alloys compliant with EN 1774 (Zinc and zinc alloys – Alloys for foundry purposes – Ingot and liquid), as well as alloys for galvanising steel, using carefully selected zinciferous raw materials.
